Dyson V12 Detect Slim

- - Less suction than the V15 on carpet
Who wins in which situation?
With 240 AW against 150 AW and the anti-tangle Digital Motorbar head, the V15 pulls more dirt and hair out of carpet.
At about 5.2 pounds it is much lighter than the 6.8 pound V15, which buyers with wrist or shoulder issues notice right away.
Its 0.2 gallon bin holds about twice as much as the V12's, so you stop to empty it far less often.
You still get the laser head and dust sensor, the battery clicks out for a spare and it costs less.

Our conclusion
Get the Dyson V15 Detect Plus if you have carpet, shedding pets or a larger home, since the extra suction and bigger bin make a real difference there. If you live in an apartment with mostly hard floors and rugs, the V12 Detect Slim gives you the same smart features in a lighter body for less money. Weight is the main reason to choose the V12.
